Knee Pain Treatment with Acupuncture — Ontario, CA
Knee pain rarely starts in the knee. It's usually the joint that pays for what's happening above and below — a hip that doesn't rotate, a foot that collapses, a quadriceps that's holding what the glutes should. By the time the knee itself is inflamed or worn, treating only the knee gets diminishing returns. The whole chain has to be addressed.

Patients arrive with a range of knee diagnoses made elsewhere — including chronic pain. The local picture is usually some combination of inflammation, soft-tissue restriction, and altered movement patterns. Acupuncture has been studied for chronic knee pain in multiple clinical trials. Acupuncture combined with manual work and exercise may help with range of motion and discomfort. Addressing the hip and ankle in the same session is part of how we approach the whole chain.
What treatment looks like
First visit screens the whole lower extremity: hip rotation, knee tracking, ankle dorsiflexion, single-leg balance. Sessions combine acupuncture in local knee points with distal points at the hip and ankle, cupping for quadriceps or IT band restriction, and brief manual work for the upstream limit. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual; every case is different. Treatment focuses on managing pain, swelling, and supporting function. We do not claim to reverse structural changes.

Patients with chronic knee pain often see changes in pain and function over a course of treatment. Individual results vary, and acupuncture is best used alongside care from your physician.
